Big Bear Mountain Resorts Still Open

Big Bear Lake, California—The skiing and snowboarding season is not over yet at Big Bear Mountain Resorts (BBMR), as Bear Mountain and Snow Summit may remain open until early May. With up to a two-foot base and excellent coverage on all open runs, BBMR will offer skiing and riding on a day-to-day basis, beginning Monday, April 24. How long the resorts stay open will depend on business volume.

“As long as there is still interest from guests, Snow Summit and Bear Mountain will have no problem staying open into May, stated Brent Tregaskis, General Manager for BBMR. “We have more snow than average for this time of year, so how long we stay open will depend on business, added Tregaskis.

Bear Mountain and Snow Summit will remain open as long as business warrants with selected chairlifts operating on an as-needed basis. Chair 9 at Bear Mountain will be open providing access to runs on the west side of the mountain, and there will also be limited food service available in the Silver Mountain eatery. Starting today at Snow Summit, chairs 2,3,7,8 and 9 will be open with access to terrain for all ability levels. Ski and snowboard schools, rentals, food service, and the sport shop will also be available at Snow Summit. Additionally, all Bear Mountain-only season passes will be valid at Snow Summit through the end of the season.
