Big Bear Mountain Resorts Reach Out To The Gulf Coast

Big Bear Lake, California–The tragedy of Hurricane Katrina has affected everyone and Big Bear Mountain Resorts is doing something about it. For every season pass that was sold at the summer snowboard event, Hot Dawgz and Hand Rails, $5 will be donated to a charitable organization for disaster relief. ” It is awesome to be able to give back and help those that have lost so much in this natural disaster “, said Kim Hermon, Asst. Marketing Director for Big Bear Mountain Resorts.

Hot Dawgz & Hand Rails was a huge success that featured dozens of top professional riders throwin’ down their best trick for over 4,000 spectators at Bear Mountain. Also featured were two public movie premieres, including Bear Mountain’s own No Big Deal. Everyone had a great time and enjoyed BBQ’d hot dogs, tasty beverages and the warm California sun.

During all the fun and excitement of the event it was easy to forget that many U.S. citizens were experiencing such great loss. As the event was an obvious success, it was decided that nearly $5,000 from the sale of season lift passes would be donated by Big Bear Mountain Resorts to a charity relief fund in order to give back to those affected by the disaster.
