After a great week of snowmaking and several fresh inches of snow, Arapahoe Basin ski area officials announce that opening day for the 2011-2012 ski season will be Thursday, October 13, 2011. The ski area has only been closed 100 days since last season ended on July 4, 2011.
Arapahoe Basin opened for the 2011/12 season today at 9:00 am. Skiers and riders were energized to get the season going on A-Basin’s High Noon trail. A-Basin was closed a mere 100 days between the 2010/11 and the 2011/12 season (A-Basin closed for the 2010/11 season on July 4th). The ski area will be open 7 days a week through closing day in June 2012. For more information about Arapahoe Basin snowmaking, terrain and conditions visit The Basin 411 page on the ski area’s website.
Additional trails will be opened as condition warrant and snowmaking will continue as weather permits.
