2011 Alt Games College Slopestyle Championship At Copper


Rail Jam Event added this year in Conjunction with Popular Sunsation Music Festival
CBS Sports Network will host the 2011 Alt Games College Snowboarding and Freeskiing Championships from Catalyst Terrain Park at Copper Mountain, Colo. for the third consecutive year. The event features the Network’s annual men’s and women’s snowboarding and freeskiing slopestyle college championships, taking place Saturday, April 16 during Copper Mountain’s Sunsation music festival. This event is part of the The Alt Games: College Action Sports Championships, an annual showcase of top college action sports championship events, now in its sixth year.

Hosted by Olympic Gold Medalist Jonny Moseley, this event will showcase the top college men’s and women’s snowboarding and freeskiing slopestyle athletes. The event annually features athletes from top schools, including University of Colorado, University of Vermont and University of Maine, among others. The participants will be competing for a $7,000 prize purse.

Alt Games television coverage premieres Sunday, May 1 (5:30 – 8:30 PM, ET).  Action from Copper Mountain will also be included in a special one-hour Alt Games highlight show airing on CBS on Saturday, June 25 (2:00 PM, ET), followed by 10 hours of programming from four Alt Games locations on the CBS Sports Network.

Hundreds of competitors from colleges and universities nationwide will compete at the 2011 Alt Games, which will crown national men’s and women’s champions in both individual and team events.  The full schedule of competitions, dates and locations is as follows:

Copper Mountain, Colo. (April 16) – Slopestyle Skiing, Snowboarding, Rail Jam, and Sunsation Music Festival
San Diego, Calif. (May 13-15) – Wakeboarding, Flowboarding, Skateboarding, Beach Volleyball and Music Festival
Boulder, Colo. (May 27-30) – Ultimate
Dana Point, Calif. (June 18) – Surfing
