Pro Setups: Kazu Kokubo

TransWorld SNOWboarding Riders’ Poll 16 Men's Rider of the Year Nomination

In 2010, Kazu Kokubu almost lost his chance to compete in the Vancouver Olympics because he was seen in the airport enroute to the Games with a loosened tie, untucked shirt, and saggy pants. The Ski Association of Japan reacted harshly to Kazu's appearance and tried to get him on a plane straight back to Toyko. That didn't happen, but they banned Kazu from being part of the Olympic Opening Ceremonies because of his “disrespectful look.” These days, without the Olympic spotlight all over him, Kazu rocks what he wants to wear, and has no problem sagging his Adidas Major Strenchin' It Pants. He's keeps his snowboard style comfortable and causal, often riding with just sunglasses and a hoodie. We back it.
