Women’s Video Part of the Year: Maria Thomsen
Lots of hard work went into this one. Maria Thomsen is the recipient of the Riders' Poll 20 Women's Video Part of the Year award. Thomsen's ender from The Uninvited isn't her first noteworthy part, but it's the best one yet. Putting the cap on a film full of progressive snowboarding, the part is exactly what an ender should be: packed full of well-executed tricks on consequential spots. Originally hailing from Denmark, Thomsen made the move to Whistler about a decade ago. Honing her riding in the BC scene, Thomsen's talent caused people to take note, including Jess Kimura, who tapped her to film for The Uninvited—an all-female project that has now delivered two strong video parts from Thomsen. The second of which garnered her this honor, and it couldn't be more deserved.
