I was absolutely blown away by the riding at that "event". It was the famous light pole session by Peter Line and the start to a number of annual sessions on Westridge. I have been hearing rumors that there will be a re-launch of Westridge events at summit this coming season.
this is why i started snowboarding. back then it wasn't about who could look cool on the hill with the tightes/baggiest pants and the most "unique" style, it was about going out, having fun and throwing down. marketability is all that snowboarding is about these days and it sucks.
Insane, I started Snowboarding at this time, I think it was 1998 or so. I heard about Forum at the first time back then and I would love to go back then for a few days - look at the dope Special Blend gear - it was just too cool, no tight pants and emos and kiddies.
Fuck yeah! JP throwin, down SB 540 and S rodeo 7's @ the westridge park. Peter Line going huge method 180 off the pole hit and the rest of the O.G. Forum crew! Thats what good riding was and still is till this day.
I still have the magazine that this photo shoot was for, but never saw the video footage …. Some of the sickest style. Park/Jump technology AND board technology have changed drastically, but I still love this older stuff.
I sent a long email to the Summit/Bear Park crew last year enticing them to bring these jumps back….i hope they answer my prayers.

Remarkable.. they spin slow enough that they can actually add style to the trick. Simply amazing concept.
