Aspen/Snowmass, CO—Up to 15 inches of snow has fallen at Aspen/Snowmass in the last 24 hours and nearly two feet has covered area slopes over the last few days. The upper slopes of Snowmass were buried in 15 inches overnight and Aspen Mountain, Aspen Highlands and Buttermilk received between six and ten inches.

“The last few days have really made a difference out on the slopes,” said Rich Burkley, vice president, mountain operations, Aspen Skiing Company. “We have plenty of winter left and it came back with a vengeance this week. We’re calling this one the Valentine’s Day massacre out at Snowmass.

The resort has received more than 220 inches of snow since the snow began to fly in late September and the upper slopes have a base of over 5 feet. Conditions have been consistent all year long and the snowiest months of the year are still ahead. The resort sees its deepest base depths and most plentiful snowfall in March.

The non-stop excitement continues to heat up with a full schedule of events on the calendar. The next free Bud Light Hi-Fi Concert is Sunday, Feb. 18 with The Samples on the slopes of Snowmass. Bud Light Big air Fridays kick off this Friday and run every Friday through March. The Ski Tour rolls into town February 22-25 with the world’s best skiers competing in skiercross and skier halfpipe competitions. Both events will take place on the Velvet Falls run at Snowmass.
