Norway invades Northstar California

“Throughout the icy contest season my riders kept asking me the same question… they wanted the perfect jump for the perfect spring session. They wanted a poppy jump with a steep landing, warm weather and good vibes! Since Torstein Horgmo rides for Northstar California, we decided to do the session there.
After a few emails back and forth with Allison (Gonzales) at Northstar we were all set to head to Tahoe.
We came up to Northstar with a big crew of Norwegians full of expectations, and we were not disappointed! Mike Schipana from the park crew, and Allison Gonzales hooked us up better than ever! We showed up to a picture perfect jump, sled rides to the top, and a full crew of friendly park builders always ready to help out. We are not used to this kind of treatment!
The riders looked like kids in a candy store, and started the session right away, sending everything from backside 180s to triple cork 1620s. I was really happy to see everyone having fun and enjoying snowboarding the way it should be, especially after a pretty stressful season riding all major contests at the same time as qualifying for the Sochi Olympics and the pretty horrible FIS events.
The riders in the session were: Gjermund Braaten, Silje Norendal, Kjersti Buaas, Torgeir Bergrem, Aleksander Oestreng, Emil Andre Ullsletten, Sondre Tiller, Jørn Simen Aaboe, Brage Richenberg, and Ulrik Badertscher.” – Thomas Harstad, Coach of the Norwegian National Snowboard Team.
