Mt. Tanigawa Movie Trailer
This is a movie about a Mt. Tanigawa and the men who live to snowboard on it. Tanigawa is a 1977m mountain on the border of Gunma Prefecture and Niigata Prefecture in Japan. It is one of the 100 famous mountains in Japan. Tanigawa is home to the Tanigawadake Tenjindaira ski resort, which is where the Holy Bowly was held before it came to the states this past year. The resort itself is quite small and offers beginner to advanced-intermetiate terrain. But venture out of the boundary of the ski resort and you are quickly in one of the heaviest zones in Japan. Since its initial exploration and route-finding in the early 1930s, a total of 781 people have died on Tanigawa-dake. (Compare with the over 200 people who have died on Mt. Everest over a comparable period).
