Haha I love how the last 2 video message boards include some douche ranting about Welch Village. Jumps higher than boxes and narrow kickers??? Sounds like Peak N Peak located in Findlay Lake New York. They get mad snowfall and waste it all every year with the worst park setups ever created. They bought a school bus and buried it completely in the ground, only the roof is exposed then they added a plexi-glass ramp leading up to it. For only $57 you too can experience these frustrations for 8 hours!

anyone hatin’ has probably never stepped to any street rail and has no idea what it is like being strapped in and looking at a 6-10 ft run-in with a death-drop to one side and a nice concrete staircase to the other. and if you’ve ever rode with this guy then you would know that he kills it and that the outcome was merely a result of the set-up and by the looks of it mostly speed.

I’ve taken trips this winter to both welch and buck. Buck has better Park riders, now how does that happen? A good park! Welch is fun but it doesn’t have anything you wouldn’t fid at buck… welch is fun if you make it fun (tree jibs, 10ft snow features,etc.) but the park’s not that impressive. I’m siding with the buck kids here!
…By the way, since when is it cool to advertise your hill in video comments ^this kid^ needs to get off welchs dick already. you sound like a fucking commercial

here is my honest breakdown of the MN scene:
Best Atmosphere: Welch Village
-Welch keeps me coming back for more with its vertical drop (larger than the competitors) and its apres scene (rivals Aspen). The Welch Village area also boasts a greater snowfall than any other area in the state of Minnesota.
Best Secret Stash: “Back Bowl” @ Welch Village
- The “Back Bowl” is a little taste of the mountains in Minnesota. After a storm, hit up the lift line (sweet bumps section). The “Back Bowl” offers black diamond runs that will entertain even the most avid snow sports enthusiast.
Best Park: Welch Village
- Welch’s park crew (the Village People) bring something new to the table every year! My favourites creations are (in order): the flatbox, the kicker, and the flat down bar. Last year’s Sunset Jam was further proof of just how far Welch Village is ahead of the competition. Buck Hill can’t stack up to that!
Best Value: Welch Village
- The only thing you’ll find at Welch that doesn’t top my list is their lift tickets, which are consistantly the cheapest in the twin-city area!

No. No, you couldnt be more wrong, ok the atmosphere is probably the most chill and welch does get way more snow than people think (more than Jackson Hole and Baker combined), but the Back Bowl is more like a taste of minnesota’s hockey rinks, the thing is pure ice. Its only sick on powder days when you can throw off some cheese wedges. The park is one of the most up and coming parks in minnesota. This year they bought $8000 worth of new rails and boxes. They have 7 full length parks. Most people dont know about it though. Also, T rice said he might host the next natural selection on the infamous, “Ski Bob”

when i was young, Welch Village was just a ski hill. I went back there the other day and saw the media circus. I’ve been to a few circuses in my life, but this was not one of my favourites. rumour has it that michael jackson is trying to buy out the resort and turn it into a new neverland ranch. good for welch village, i guess. they dreamed big and got what they were looking for.

I have been riding at welch for 4 years now sadly.. this is going to be my last year there because of their laziness. One of the head guys (Peter) doesn’t give a damn about park, the park crew(all skiers except for one dousche from rochester, MN) have to get permission from Peter to put anything up, this year we have 4 rails a flat down box and two small gaps on a hill, on the bunny hill they have a small lift tower rail, a wanna be box rail that is always stick and a flat box that you can’t get speed to hit unless you skip the first two rails.. its not worth the time or money.. so just to let you know.
welch is the worst has the worst park in minnesota.
Every resort in minnesota has got better jibs with more variety than welch.
The atmosphere at welch is lame with skiers everywhere… even running the park.
and the worst thing about welch is season passes are 225$ to 300$ for a shitty resort experience even with the new back bowl.
Hyland, Afton Alps, Theodore Wirth, Wild Mountain, Giants Rigde, Spirit Mtn, Powder Ridge, Coffee Mill, and Lutsen all have better parks than Welch any day of the season.
Theres even kids whos backyards are more appealing than Welch Village.
Dont waste your time. Never go to Welch Village.
