Julia Marino Wins Women’s Slopestyle Finals at X Games 2017

Add another one to the X Games history books. Julia Marino came out of the gates swinging and landed the first-ever women's cab double underflip to secure the win in women's slopestyle finals in Aspen, Colorado. The X Games rookie was in last place, and then put down her second run with flawless style and supreme confidence which earned a 94.66.

"Oh my God, I am just so happy, it felt so smooth when I landed it!" said Marino about stomping the trick. "It honestly doesn't feel like real life, I'm just on a cloud, I couldn't ask for a better contest. This is a dream come true," continued an emotional Marino.

Both Jamie Anderson and Hailey Langland dropped in after her, and tried to unseat Marino's high score, but despite their best efforts, they weren't able to make it happen.

Jamie sent a solid, smooth run, but it lacked the technical prowess of Marino's run and she had to settle for second place. Langland hoped to follow up on her gold medal performance in Big Air on Thursday night, with a podium finish in slopestyle, but slipped out on her 1080 attempt on the last jump. She claimed fourth place, but was visibly hyped for Marino.

Katie Ormerod, from Great Britain, put down a round of great runs, and claimed third place.

This was one the most progressive women's slope contests we've seen, and it's incredible to watch the ladies pushing the envelope and attempting new, bigger tricks.
