Ha ha. You children know absolutely nothing about old time snowboarding, that “frontflip” is a frontside rodeo, people used to bust those out in the mid-nineties but then they went out of fashion. Until now. Do a forwards barrell roll and a frontside 180 and you’ve got that sh1t sorted.

this is an epic vid, the amount of really nice lookin well built backcountry hits is very impressive, looks to me like a benchmark for creative backcountry use that very few people in the world can re-create, Jeremy jones kills it here, creativity counts for alot in my book.

i don’t know how long you shred heads have been living the life but your all wrong…… it a switch indy front side misty flip .. front rodeo is since i am a regular rider…. head spot left and up off of heal side edge…. back rodeo is head to the right and up slight catch of heel side edge… grabbing lien air…… check your selves……..

Its not a FS rodeo its like a misty flip. a rodeo, either bs or fs, is a spin with a back flip. that is a front flip and a spin.

All of this controversy can be put to rest if you get a hold of an older (late 90’s) “snowboarder” magazine in which Peter Line was the guest editor. I think that it was in 98 or 99 and he details the differences between all of the differences between the spin/flip variations. Complete with sequences and all.

This is a frontflip fs 180. Frontside rodeo you spin frontside inverted of your toes, not heels. If you spin of your heels you get a frontside cork. If you cork that to much, you get a underflip…

Its not a switch anything… He’s not riding switch on that MISTY FLIP. Older guys will recognize this as a MISTY FLIP. Back in the day, about ten years ago that is what it was called. Now who know but good to see it again because it was the shit ten years ago. You did a MISTY and everybody flipped!!!!!!!!!!

its a front cork 1. Maybe it used to be called a misty but nobody says that anymore. And just so everybody knows a cork spin is any spin with a frontflip and a rodeo spin is any spin with a backflip… and you can have double corks or rodeos.

You my friend need to learn the facts. Jeremy Jones is one of the best snowboarders to ever take the slopes. Yes he is a great rail rider, and yes he is even better in the back country. Same guy, sick skills, great all around rider and one of my personal favorite riders to watch.

These days some folks call that (frontflip frontside 180) a ‘Chicane’; no idea why they’re back in the limelight, but they are fun, so what the hell. 10 years ago misty flips were ONLY backside (now people just call them corked backsides it seems), at least in my experience. And that is no where near a FS rodeo (watch Daniel Franck in Stomping Grounds for a nice switch FS rodeo 7).
