Deep South: SASS Webisode #3

About a week into my trip I met this kid named Fede. He’s the local grom at Cerro Catedral. Kid was riding everyday. And ripping rain or shine. These photos and video are from one of the rainy days. I shot the photos on my Iphone, used the voice recorder to do the mini-interview on the chair lift and the video clips come from my Canon G9. It’s crude I know, but the beauty of it was: no camera pack necessary.

    one trick?

  • Wubz Says:

Hah right, i was hoping for at least like 3, there are millions of little groms way better than him that deserve a spot light.

  • bongholio Says:

a nice simple mind not looking for the spot light…it's brilliant!

  • Ross Says:

spare the nonsense, this is a great vid, only a creative mind could piece together something like this. plus the kid is shredding in the rain filmed by a g9.

  • tim Says:

he isnt going to school so he can snowboard every day!! that is sick !!!!!!!!!!!!!! he will get soo much better in a year or so having twice as much days of riding compared to any one his age

  • nate Says:

good luck little grom………dont grow up to be like all the other haters on this website, remember snowboarding is supposed to be fun and done with your own style.

  • birdrider Says:

Dude he's twelve and lives in argentina. The fact he rides at all is amazing. The poverty there is really bad. Shred on little buddy.

  • beezyboppa Says:

lil doo is gunna kill it. grow up smokin spliffs n bustin beezys wide open.

  • Ralph Says:

If you honestly have the heart to hate on this video, you're a fucking judas. This little kid loves to shred, he's got the same feeling that every other kid that wants to become a professional snowboarder has. It reminded me of when I was that young just shredding, the kid does it for the joy of snowboarding in the most sincere way.

i went to catedral this year, not with the camp but on my own. with all of the problems facing argentines and this resort's lack of commitment (not opening up chairlifts with perfect weather conditions, minimal resources for the park) it was really inspiring to see young kids like this guy riding like they lived their lives around snowboarding.

  • alex Says:

yes animal collective in the background…

  • kevilious Says:

this kid has pure heart man, dont be hater. when he was asked if he wanted to be a pro snowboarder
he said yes, and then asked why, he answer with pure passion of snowboarding, cuz he likes it, how much epic can that kid answer that question, kids in U.S probably said sh*t like, imma get me some girl, money or sh*t like famous, kids in states needs to learn more from other kids in other country they are soo much more humble then kids here…. well atleast overall% ( not saying all kids arent humble but most of them are )

  • skeevystoner Says:

Its odd but the simplicity of this video is great! I really think more people should think about this. I'm sick of seeing like 4 crews of kids at Tyrol Basin on the first day with 3 chip cameras filming 240's out. You know who you are!

  • SIN Says:

I wanna ride with that Grom.

  • sherbet Says:

ill laugh if he works his ass off and makes it

  • Naw Says:

Seriously, it's not like the states and filled opportunity or where your parents will front everything for you. He probably won't even be able to get a sponsor down there cuz no one would be able to afford to sponser him. Keep gittin' little kid. Make it to the states and chase that dream!

  • Some1 Says:

Who would come on here, watch this and then put him down, saying things like " one trick?" and "…millions of little groms way better than him that deserve a spot light. " ? Man, snowboarding doesn't need people like you.

  • blake Geis Says:

fuck yeah quittin school at 12, best idea i've ever heard

  • tool Says:

wow wubz you really are a douchebag

  • MARK Says:

    yours an asshole dude. jelouse?

  • mOas Says:

beezyboppa you RETARD i think your on the wrong website with all that spliff wide open BS get a life you nutbag.

  • guest Says:

fede is awesome. regardless of the lack of tricks in this video…none of you have ever seen this kid ride powder, hit cliffs or backcountry jumps that most of you park rats would not even think about stepping to. this mountain barely has a park, and when they do it's right under an avy zone that tends to slide a lot. needless to say park is second priority there.

  • sapo Says:

All of you, first, shut up and go ride….what about fede, eh!!! If you really want to know what's up on his riding. Then, learn how to ride first and then come down to Bariloche or anywhere in argentina. We show you how we do it….you fucking sons of the system….leave my little body alone, giles!!!!
