dam, Benedek is still far better than everyone else. so gifted and seems so smart, too many riders like shaun white in snowboarding today, doing the same tricks as everyone else, technically really well but kind of boring none the less. I don’t think there was a rodeo in this video. I think its a switch cork BS 9 and a switch cork BS 12. To do a rodeo you need to leave the jump from your heals not your toes. Travis Rice and that Euro guy I forget his last name can do BS rodeo 10s.

It was definitely a rodeo. I don’t think there’s some kind of rule that says you have to do them from your heels. Rodeo 7 and higher look more like corks (except you lean the other way) but they’re still rodeos.

its hard to see but it was definitely a back rodeo. watch it in slow motion. u dont have to leave off ur heels. on a sw backside cork his right shoulder would throw down and his head would look down to the left. on this sw backside rodeo his front shoulder stays more level and his head looks over his left(back) shoulder. thats what makes it a back rodeo. pause it at 39 sec and u will see what i mean

If you want to get technical it’s neither a back rodeo or a cork. What he’s doing is a doing a flat switch backside 180 then throwing into a late chicane. What’s a chicane you ask? Well it’s a trick that was popular in about 2000-2001. Kevin Jones used to have a good chicane. If you don’t know who that is you should learn a little more about snowboarding.

First, there is no such thing as the best snowboarder in the world. Their are riders who are better at certain aspects of riding. For example, “Real” snowboarding, Big mountain Jones is easily the best, with Muller right behind him.
But come on ,Shaun White, lol the kid sold out a while ago, dropping Volcom , so he could make his own clothing line at Target, WOW, he’s soo cool. And im not hating because thats what skiers do. I just think, Rice, Benny, Horgmo, E man, any of the euro dudes in actionhorsefilms.com , are at another level when it comes to progression and most importantly having fun . cause thats what snowboarding is,

those don’t look anything like bs rodeos. he does textbook bs rodeo 9s in lame. rodeos involve backflips and hes flipping/corking frontflip/forwards. dan is right about the chicane variation, but i think they almost look like bs double corks. at least benedeks version of them.

You people don’t know what you’re talking about. Back Rodeos has nothing to do with backflips or leaving off of your heels. Rodeo is a kind of cork. When you backside cork you have the base of your board towards the landing in the start of the cork while when you backside rodeo you have your head towards the landing in the start of the cork. How much you cork is up to you, and yes you can cork it so much that you’re completly upside down.
It’s all very logical, it’s as much of a bs rodeo as cab not being the same as switch frontside, bitches

Sorry but this doesn t look like a rodeo to me. No way i could call it a rodeo… Probably more like an “unusual off axis spin”(?) that kicks it more likely with his soldiers and his body and less with his legs. You can even see that from the way he takes off the kicker. I like it and i m not saying that the trick sux or Benedek either but this isn t a rodeo for me.
A good example for bs rodeo trick is Travis Rice i would say.

Sorry TWS and Benedek, No way this is a backside rodeo. He takes off on his toe edge for both tricks. I would call it switch backside corkscrew or late- corkscrew like Jason Murphy was doing back in the day. Check out the Kingpin videos. Benedek drops his leading shoulder, a backside rodeo is when the rider takes off of his heels and rotates backside over his trailing shoulder. David Scaffidi is the only person I’ve seen do a textbook Backside Rodeo 900 and that was in 2002 at the ESPN Freeride Big Air in Tahoe.
