Chloe Kim’s Back to Back 1080s : U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix 2016 Park City

Chloe Kim’s Back to Back 1080s :US Grand Prix

Chloe Kim just can’t be stopped. Coming straight off her gold medal winning run at the X Games in Aspen, Chloe went on to make snowboard history at the U.S. Snowboarding Grand Prix in Park City, Utah by stomping the first female back to back 1080s.

Her smooth style, impressive amplitude and charging nature was awarded a perfect score of 100 and first place. When judges issue a score of 100 for run, it’s just saying that they think there’s no one else who can beat that rider on that day, and doesn’t actually reflect a perfect run. That’s why scores fluctuate from contest to contest—they reflect the field and level of riding on that given day.

Chloe had already clenched the win with her first run, but went on to make shred history with her second run and was scored at 100 for the day.

Kelly Clark, holds the title as the winningest halfpipe rider of all time, and has wanted to land this line in a competition for a while, but Chloe beat her to it.
A huge congrats to Chloe, we’re pumped to see her riding so well and pushing the progression of women’s snowboarding!
