Who did you have the best session with this year?

Alek – Hard to pick one. But riding pipe in mammoth this spring with the Fergusons , roope and lots of other people was really fun.

Mark – I spent a few weeks sledding and filming with Mikkel this year. We got to session a few jumps together and that kid is so fun to watch. We built a new jump we’d found that had never been hit before (as far as we knew) and it was such a good day building and sessioning a new spot. We both walked about with a few shots it couldn’t have gone any better.

What was the hardest trick to land in this video part?

Alek – the half cab bs tail press on the kink in oslo was pretty hard for me. Took a couple of slams on that rail. haha

Mark – I battled with my frontside 3 ender for a bit. It was a weird spot to hit. The in run was like 150 feet long an curved around a corner then up a hill like 30 feet before the lip. So you would drop in and pick up speed then slow down like crazy going up the hill then get ready to go off the drop. The cliff itself had a belly to it so you had a bump to clear then it went straight down to the landing so it was easy to overshoot ( First hit I went way too fast and flew to the bottom). Stoked it worked out though or else I would have lost my mind.

Where did you go on your favorite trip this year?

Alek – the Norway trip with Sollors and Hale was fun. We stayed in Oslo for the first half and went to Lillehammer for the second.

Mark – I visited Alek in Norway for a week and any chance I get to go to that country I’m stoked. The weather didn’t cooperate too well but we have a lot of fun riding together so we made it work.

When did you feel on top of the world this year?

Alek – When i won 50 bucks at the black jack table.

Mark – Anytime I’m standing on a mountain in the backcountry I feel like I’m on top of the world. It’s such a trip being surrounded by uninhabited mountains with 4 of your friends and no one else.

When did you feel like you wanted to give up?

Alek – Flipped over after landing on this rail. Landed on my back on this concrete ledge. gave up after that. haha

Mark – When it’s bad weather for a few weeks and you finally get a sunny day with good snow and nothing works for you. You build a jump wrong or you just can’t land. It’s hard on you but that’s when you just put the cameras aside and go snowboarding with your friends. That resets it and you remember that snowboarding is just about having fun.

How many flights did you miss?

Alek – none. haha

Mark – I make sure I change my flights so that I don’t technically miss them.

Why do you love snowboarding?

Alek – it is the funnest thing in the world

Mark – Like I said before, When shit isn’t going your way or you’re stressed about something all you have to do is go ride with a couple friends and you forget all about it. I love how snowboarding gets you outside and reminds you to enjoy the ride.

What’s next for you?

Alek – Going to Breckenridge in a couple of weeks to start the season. Looking forward to snowboard again.

Mark – I’m working on a project with some friends called ‘The Manboys’ which is releasing Videos at the end of November on Transworld. Plus I have the Burton Rail days event in Japan in a few weeks so I want to get boarding as soon as I can. Stoked for the new season
