September 10th, 2008 at 2:26 pm
yo scott, what made you need all 25 strobe heads?
September 10th, 2008 at 2:50 pm
The AIR outside, makes me feel so ALONE IN KYOTO, almost as if I’m LOST IN TRANSLATION.
September 10th, 2008 at 4:46 pm
And people think Scott doesn’t work…Good job boys!
September 10th, 2008 at 5:31 pm
who thinks i don’t work? lol. you know my motto, work smart not hard.
to answer stazz’s question…25 strobes cause i wanted to light each stair separately so they would have a glowing feel. that didn’t work exactly right because it was warm during the building of it and the ice didn’t bond well therefor the light didn’t travel through the ice as planned. also, the light hitting the rider would blow out the ice if it hit it so the ice and rider needed to be lit separately too. we used a lot of grids and flags to keep lights from spilling. hope this answers your question.

September 12th, 2008 at 4:58 pm
very cool…but did they have to use the tender feelings music for the background?
September 13th, 2008 at 6:42 pm
rad cover, but whats with these sneaux shoe ads? is that like a wal mart brand or something shaun white is behind? their ads just claim that they have some kid who is going to win olympic gold in pipe and gold in the non existent olympic vert skate competition. Didnt they do thier research and find out that snowboarders dont like claimers? If i ever saw someone wearing those i would have my friends hold them down, take the kids shoes off, poo in them, then put them back on his feet…still steamin with poo, and quadruple knot them so he cant ever take them off. maybe that should be thier ad campaign, a nice sequence of that.

September 20th, 2008 at 3:56 pm
dustin craven’s backside tail press is perfection.
September 20th, 2008 at 6:45 pm
I agree 100%
September 21st, 2008 at 5:41 pm
scott, one of the greatest covers ive ever seen. perfection. my guess is that this issue will sell like hotcakes based on the cover alone. the cool blues of the ice and the black of night balance out so well, and cravens outerwear fits perfectly with allof it. i really wanna see snowboard photography continue in this direction, but dammit man, its gonna be hard to top or even touch this shot.
A+
September 24th, 2008 at 8:33 pm
