Be careful treading those industry waters, never take 'bro' for an answer. Lucas is one of the wise ones, he knows at this point he's got just as much to learn as he has to prove. To have the respect of young and old from his home mountain of Mt Baker speaks volumes about his riding. Keep it up you little freak.

What I don't understand is why anyone thinks a company owes a rider? Burton obviously is a business…they have marketing, budget, advertising, and industry concerns. People don't stay with a company forever, companies expect performance, they sell an image. I'm not condoning what they did, just sayin, I hope he gets picked up by someone who appreciates his talent. Lucas for sure is a ripper

I think the problem people have with Burton is that they shit on people like Lucas, Heikki, Romain, JP, DCP, and Gigi (And this is just in the last few years, we could make a list that stretches back so far, Burton has hemorraged so much talent over the years (Guch)). Then they back dudes like Mason Aguirre. Far be it for me to talk shit on Mason, he is obviously 10 times the rider I will ever be, but he's not what most people would consider, "legit"
And you are right, a company can do whatever the hell they please, they are after all in the business to make money, and as long as the teams have cats like Shaun White or Travis Rice on their payroll people like Lucas are going to get the short end of the stick.
I hope this kid picks up some sponsors that can support him the right way. I'd hate to see him get shelved by a company that can't support the type of career he deserves.

dude gigi wasn't let go from the company…he left himself. He wasn't feeling the changes burton was making so he bounced. I was laughing because gigi was like half of burton's adds that year and then they scrapped them all

Yeah burton backs shitty riders like mason and kier dillon who can only ride peipe and can't even win events. What they did to heikki sorsa pissed me off bad, they guy had a joint part with eero ettala and he's still not good enough for the global team. Fuck burton, they don't sponsor movies, I don't support them.

NeverSummer ftw. Made w/ quality, and in the region of the country that gets some of the best snow. Not mass-manufactured pieces of shit. Not as big of a brand, but the best boards I've ever ridden.

I have been riding Mervin boards for over fifteen years and I have only snapped the tail on a four-year-old Pacifier that was rode into the ground. Besides that, I think they are the best boards around. Sorry that your experience with their boards wasn't pleasant, but I wouldn't be caught dead riding a shitty chopstick K2/Ride or Burton/Forum…
