What The Pros Are Rockin’

Name: Brian Savard
Age: 30
Height: 5′ 11”
Weight: 180 pounds
Home: Whistler, B.C., Canada
Roots: Vancouver Island, B.C., Canada
Sponsors: K2, Arc’teryx, Scott USA, Kombi, One Ball Jay, Puma
Stance: 21-inch-wide stance. I angle my front foot 27 degrees forward, my back foot is at zero degrees, I ride with about two inches more nose than tail. When I position my bindings, I measure from the nose to the forward edge of my binding, not the inserts.
Board: K2 Ambush 164-it’s stiff enough for handling speed and it floats well in powder.
Consumption: I go through about three boards a season. I like to ride my boards until they suck to ride. Usually they get taken out by rocks, but sometimes they fall out of the heli.
Boots: K2 T1, size nine. I like a stiff boot because it helps me apply more pressure to my edges, protects my ankles, and causes less muscle fatigue.
Lube: I wax once a week.
Bindings: K2, V9 Plasma. I ride with a decent amount of forward lean-a little more on my back foot than my front.
Superstitions: I have a reoccurring dream that the heli guide drops my board at the top of the run and I have to walk down the most insane run in waist-deep pow.
Style: Black belt.

Binding: K2 V9 Plasma

Pant: Arc’teryx Minuteman Bibs
