The second event of Volcom’s PB&RJ tour (Peanut Butter & Rail Jam) went down this past Sunday at none other than The Park at Bear Mountain, California. Always a fun time, it lived up to everyone’s expectations. The event was open to anyone who wanted to ride and showcase their maneuvers for a panel of expert judges— Scott Blum, Chris Bradshaw, and Mike Burton. As the name implies, the contest was a low-pressure jam format, more of a session than a contest.
The setup was in The Scene, a hikeable jib park at the base of the mountain—it consisted of a flat bar, a flat box that split into two down boxes going either left or right like an upside down Y of sorts, a C-box, and a skate-style handrail.
All in all, the event went off without a hitch and everyone had fun, and everyone had peanut butter and jelly sandwiches. If a picture speaks a thousand words, then video must be like a thousand and one. Check bearmtn.com for footage of the event.
