K-5—a surf/skate/snow shop out of San Diego, California threw its third annual Mt. Poway rail jam this past Saturday, October 22. They set up a flat down box, crushed up blocks of ice and voila, snow in Pow town. Some real A-list snowboard talent came out to sign autographs and support the young bucks competing for $1,000 in first place cash. Sal Masekela and Todd Richards volunteered to MC the event and they were hilarious—they had everyone cracking up for hours, and I’m not just saying that so Sal to buys me a beer at the X-Games. Oakley grilled up hot dogs for everyone, and if you really tried you could score free beer. It was a super fun way to start thinking about winter—weeks away at his point.

“We love doing this and plan do it as long as long as we can— Juergen Schultz, K-5 co-owner.
