Big Bear Lake, Calif., Thursday August 11, 2005 — Big Bear Mountain Resorts (BBMR) is proud to announce the return of the very successful Hot Dawgz & Hand Rails (HD&HR) summer event. HD&HR is set to take place on Saturday, September 17, 2005 at Bear Mountain Resort (Bear Mountain), located in the San Bernardino Mountains near Los Angeles. “The second installment of HD&HR is truly evolving into more of a pre-winter festival at Bear Mountain. We have put together a truly awesome list of professional snowboarders that will be at HD&HR competing, judging the event and signing autographs including the likes of JP Walker, Mark Frank Montoya, Seth Hout, Lauri Heiskari, Simon Chamberlain, Devun Walsh, Pat Moore, Chris Bradshaw, John Jackson, Mitch Reed, Cory Cronk, Lane Knaack, Casey Nelson, Wyatt Caldwell, Travis Kennedy, Eddie Wall, Shaun McKay, Matt Hammer, Mike Casinova, Chris Rotex, Colin Langolis, Erin Comstock, Laura Hadar and way too many more to name, stated Brad Farmer, Public Relations Director for BBMR.
HD&HR is FREE and open to the public, however, the snowboarding or competition part of this event is for invited professional snowboarders only. The event will feature a new and incredibly unique competition setup, two major snowboard movie premiers, a sponsor booth-city, professional rider autograph sessions, product giveaways, live DJ’s, BBQ’s, the Beach Bar, tons of snow and some of the top ranked snowboarders in the world battling it out for $12,000 in cash prizes.
The Big Bear Mountain Resorts park development team has been hard at work designing a new urban rail setup specifically for this event. “We have come up with a rider friendly design that will give competitors an opportunity to work through a series of several challenging obstacles which will be an impressive sight for spectators, stated Bear Mountain Park Development Supervisor, Chris Winslow. The urban style rail setup will be placed in the base area known as “The Scene during winter operations. Forty tons of snow will be brought in for this exclusive summer pro rail competition.
