The Nokia Air and Style Games, held in the Olympic Stadium Munich, Germany, on Saturday 03 December, showed yet again why they are the biggest and most prestigious event on the European leg of the TTR World Snowboard Tour. In a five-hour, action-packed stadium showdown, pyrotechnics, bands, screaming crowds and an impressive light show highlighting the 170 meter-long course, a man-on-man showdown between sixteen of the world’s best riders impressed millions of live viewers.
After battling head-to-head throughout the course of the evening, it was Sweden’s top rider Hampus Mosesson who took honors, beating French star Mathieu Crepel in a dynamic final. The win, Mosesson’s first at an Air and Style event, earned him 1000 TTR points, giving him solid standings towards the TTR World Nr#1 crowning.
Seventh-placed Austrian Chris Kroell having now completed two TTR World Snowboard Tour events this season, Kroell was fourth in the 4 (four) Star Oakley Stylewars in Falls Creek, Australia (www.stylewars.com.au) will take an early lead on the 2005/2006 TTR World Rankings. Mosesson’s win puts him currently in second place, with Crepel third.
The TTR World Nr#1 title will be decided after the last 6 (six) Star event of the Northern Hemisphere season is completed. With the average taken of a riders 4 (four) best competition results over the course of the season, the TTR Tour leader, as it is now with Chris Kroell, will be highly contended.
