I haven’t been to Whistler during the summer in along time, like fifteen years. The last time I was here, I competed in the OP Pro of Snowboarding. That summer was also the first time that I had ever been to Mt. Hood.
But today, as far as I can tell, the armored up downhill mountain biking thing is being taken really seriously here. Every five feet you run into a person dressed up like a storm trooper, walking a bike that weighs less than my shoes.
The best thing about Whistler isn’t necessarily the snow riding, though that is pretty good! It’s the après shred activities. The nightlife is always bumping in Whistler. The sake margarita is a drink, that as far as I know is only available here, although I have never been to a Mexican Asian fusion restaurant in the states. They are a small gift from heaven. Think fruit punch with a kick in the brain.
Travis really likes the sake margs. Travis has been running kits that make him look like a weird uncle that you might have named Gary, who is a member of the Audubon Society. It seems that all the campers at the snow shred camps up here have fake ID’s. There are what appear to be children in the bars. Seems the laws in Canada are merely suggestions. Anyhow, snow good, bars good, shred good. Good times.
