Wrightwood, CA—This Saturday, January 21st, marks the 10th annual $25,000 Kawasaki Triple Air at Mountain High, the richest one-day snowboarding event in the country. Prizes are awarded to the top 16 competitors and first place in the men’s division takes home $6,000 in cash and a brand new Kawasaki KLX 110 Off-Road motorcycle. A brand new Rolex watch, provided by sponsor Active Ride Shop, also goes to the rider with the best trick. In the women’s division, the top competitor takes home $1,000 in cash, a brand new Kawasaki KLX 110 Off-Road motorcycle, a one-year clothing sponsorship from Girl Powder, and a pre-paid Boost Mobile phone.
Says John McColly, Director of Marketing, “The Triple Air has become our largest event of the season and we see riders from all over the Western part of the country coming out to compete. In the $25,000 Kawasaki Triple Air, snowboarders must tackle three enormous jumps in a row. Participants are judged on their overall performance including difficulty, height, style and landing. Now in its tenth season, the event is open to both amateurs & professionals and awards include $16,750 in cash, two new Kawasaki KLX 110 Off-road Bikes and $8,000 in prizes. After the event, all competitors take part in a huge raffle and the famous after party in the Bullwheel Bar & Grill. Past participants include Shawn White, Blaise Rosenthall, Matt Hammer, Gabe Taylor, and more.
Divisions consist of Professional Men, Amateur Men and Open/Pro Women. Entry fees are $160 for professionals, $110 for amateurs and $110 for Women. Fees include lift ticket, USASA membership, breakfast, lunch from Wahoos, drinks from Chambord, the raffle and after party. Registration takes place from 7:00am to 9:30am in the West base lodge and the event begins sharply at 11am. Pre-registration is not available. Helmets are required to participate.
