For next season get some new boards because riding a Signal Park Rocker does not count, pressing on one takes completely no effort at all. The same amount of effort that goes into your product and creativity as well Dialogue, none at all. You give Ontario snowboarders a very bad name. And I agree Jerm, those neon colors are hard on the eyes and so two seasons ago, but dont worry im sure theyll all jump onto the next fad aswell. If you dont decide to change things up, name the next video "This Is Predictable!".

I had to watch this w/o sound b/c I'm in a library so I didn't get to hear the dialogue, and these kids did look like a bunch of tools and it IS okay to hate on whack neon clothing, but there were some nice tricks in this vid. I mean these kids can ride, but I guess if I had to choose a side I'd choose thumbs down. Why can't these kids just wear regular outerwear? But still- nice jibs for sure. Did the music suck?

you guys are really good at running up and down the stairs beside rails. about 15 minutes of this video could have been cut out. maybe go find some riders who dont think they own snowboarding in ontario because when it comes down to it none of these guys will go anywhere they are already too old and not good enough. Yuri in particular has the ugliest arm flailing style ive ever seen in my life. yes you can do tricks. but i would rather see you land a steezy three than those ugly nines. better luck next time boys

Yes HARV, I ACTUALLY get stoked on it. I've recieved hate since day one, but people keep buying my hats, watching my videos and being stoked on Dialogue. I'll keep doing whatever I please. Post your video man, I'd like to see what you can put together in a few months.

Ok, so if I may offer some criticism and praise, along with some unbiased insight.
I'll start with the praises,
1) there's a fairly wide range of spots throughout the video, and a good number of them are only hit by 1 or 2 people. Big help towards keeping it interesting!
2) There are some really GOOD spots in this video, that wood down/flat, the metal DFD by the playground with the deece flat section, the C-rail, the triple kink, that wood DFD with the super tiny flat
3) promoting safe snowboarding by wearing helmets all the time (this is also a criticism)
CRITICISMS:
titles, let's work on those for next year.
1) wearing helmets on handrails, looks amateur, lose the helmet once you have your trick dialed and are ready to shoot it, don't just shoot right away unless you're confidant, this technique will help fix some of my other criticisms as well
2) lack of body control. Lots of the riders are throwing themselves into spins and hoping for the best. That works well until you're ready to start doing things with style. Keep your arms in, and your knees bent, and if you flail or come off early..redo it! This is a representation of you so as a rider with a video part you should try to make it good.
3)lips…Your lips on handrails need to be made smaller and the rider must ollie onto the rail…otherwise it looks awkward, for instance; that flattop downbar everyone has tons of shots on in this video…lip is like 2 inches from the top of the rail.
4)park rocker board…zero camber, or reverse camber is fine because when you sit flat it lies flat, not so with rocker….looks silly.
5)multiple shots on one rail…the rule is if you do a trick but then do a better similar one you only show the better one….example: 50-50 180 out….that's good…but cut it frmo the video if the rider also does a 50-50 360 out on the same feature.
6) park footage: 80% park footage in a video is pretty bad. and those Blue Mountain rails are TINY. In fact, a few of the handrails you guys hit are tiny….don't embarass yourselves….even if you 270 onto a 15 foot handrail it doesn't change the fact that it's a 15 foot handrail…
7) chose an aspect ratio please. this video goes between 16:9 and 4:3 so often it's nauseating and a glaring indication that you are a poor editor. Just because you own an NLE and know how to make a cut doesn't mean you are an editor.
9) adjust your ratios….ratio of filler shots to legit trick shots, ratio of park shots to handrail/urban shots, aspect ratios…
basically my thought is that you could have a really good 7 or 8 minute video if you got rid of alot of the garbage…..you need to be more aggressive with what you put on the cutting room floor.

hmm, so your discrediting me because I don't throw my footage online for you to compare ? Well I suppose it's no skin off my back whether or not you take my advice. However, note that I didn't compare your video to anything, I merely pointed out that it may serve you better to listen to the ideas behind the hate and think about whether or not there's any merit to it. for instance: park rocker hate…lose the park rocker for next year because although a press is easier and more pressed, any 50-50 trick looks awful, plus you lose legitimacy pressing a board that has a kinked nose and tail.

Yuri, I agree with the way you feel, that is why I put that in the pros and cons because it's good for the reasons you name, but it's also bad because of what it says about your own confidence in the tricks your trying. When people watch a snowboarding video they want to believe that the riders are walking in the park with their part. A helmet says otherwise.
Again I agree with your reasons, but I disagree for other reasons as well.
And "andrew" (above yuri) watch the best snowboarding video out there and then try your best to mimic it in terms of standards as best you can… What I get from your sarcastic reply is that you feel this video shouldn't aspire to be the best it can be by simply applying some set of higher standards to the product in question.

however you aren't drawing a line between constructive and destructive criticism. That is where you can really do yourself a disservice.
Also note that although most destructive hate is more about you than it is about the video there is always insight to gain somewhere.

We weren't trying to make a 'pro video'. We didn't have a budget; just cars, drop-ins, a generator and some lights. And I think your comment about helmets is a little silly. I believe that Jed Anderson wears a helmet and hits handrails, oh ya he does.
It's called having fun. It's something that Dialogue enjoys doing. But everyone is still talking about this video and it's got almost 4,500 views.
And don't criticize my editing ability, unless you can back that up with your own 'super video' following your 'pro' rules.

Exactly, it's easy to tell other people what to do and how they should ride. But they aren't going to live up to everyone's standards. And on those points listed your mostly right, ofcourse they could improve if they did everything you mentioned but that's not realistic. Even expecting them to do one thing you mentioned is unrealistic. Your a random commenter on ONE of the websites they have streaming their video.

Just wanted to point out its easy to tell ppl how they could do better…easier then getting out there and doing it yourself. They made this video as a bunch of friends having fun…don;t know the budget but i'm sure they didnt have the money or time to flim places u would find desirable.

I watched the video, good stuff for sure! Looks like lots of you worked hard to achieve something you can have a good time showing people. I read all the comments and I have to agree with some of the hate in that I personally don't like the park rocker, I like how crazy Brad can press with it, but seems best not to 50-50 with it.
I also agree with the aspect ratio comment…It's not that hard to drop a widescreen filter over your finished timeline…Or zoom in and crop your HD 16:9 footage. But really I'd imagine not lots of the kids that've watched this vid care much about that.

Get off your computers and film your own awesome video with no money or just shut up. Its not like you guys suck. because you dont. the problem i think everyone is trying to get across is that you think your alot better and bigger in the industry than you really are and thats whats giving ontario riders a bad name. instead of snaking people at chill on the hill and chirping people in the park (which i have seen you all do) maybe if your actually trying to be a respectful part of the sport you should put something back into the sport. all your doing is taking from it. yeah trevor is running a company that puts into the sport but the people that represent him are taking far more back out. sure its about having fun but it seems if you arent one of the dialogue beauty queens your not allowed to have fun with them. you just have a really bad vibe and reputation. you guys think getting hate is awesome and your claiming you really love it but just imagine what it would be if that hate was turned positive. because in reality you could easily turn it around for next season.

that doesnt happen anywhere….u cant expect to go to bear mountain and ride with chris bradshaw haha….or park city and shred with shawn white….. im not saying we r as good as them becuz obviously we r not…. we just ride, and take it seriously like anyone else who is trying to make it in this industry. obviously not all of us what to become pro boarders, but they take is serious anyways becuz they love it!…just like anyone would do with anything…..if u get what i mean.

Ok just watched the video and read all the comments:
Trevor Harris is an amazing individual who had a dream and is doing everything he can to make it happen, Hes succeeded in my mind. I wish there were more people out there like him. Hes not in it for money he just wants to help ontario riders improve their game and have more fun. Alot more work went into this video then alot of you know. You cant just go and hit a handrail by yourself, it takes alot of effort and teamwork. It takes a certain person to give up your time and money just to get more riders into the streets. You can realy tell that the dialouge riders are having a blast all the time and i think that is what trevor tried to show in his video. its not always about big rails and double corks. I like wearing bright colours because its fun! and so are park rockers!
And yea how come yuri and brady and alex,etc… keep on winning all the competitions?
