Canada’s Premier Slopestyle Series now Internationally Recognized
~ YOU LOOK GOOD Rider’s Cup Starts February 7, 2009 at Mont Tremblant ~
Toronto, ON – YOU LOOK GOOD Rider’s Cup (YLGRC09) is Canada’s first and only competitive snowboard series to be awarded international recognition by the Swatch TTR World Snowboard Tour. Each athlete will have the opportunity to gain international recognition by accumulating TTR points while obtaining peer and media exposure on a national level at each event throughout the series.
“I’m excited that YLG is now a TTR three star event. The series will now draw bigger names from across Canada and the U.S. which means a higher skill level demonstrated at each and every stop. This is a really great thing for the snowboard industry,” says Jesmond Dubeau from Whistler B.C.
TTR is an international regulating body mandated to uphold the highest quality competitive snowboard environment in the world, using authenticity, accessibility and innovation as guiding principles.
In its fifth year as Canada’s premiere slopestyle series and at the forefront of the Canadian competition scene, YLGRC09 has four signature events this year with a cash purse of more then $22,000 and $50,000 in prizing.
New cash and prizing breakdown for YLGRC09; SBCWomen.com will be awarding $500 for the single best female trick at each of the stops, Ripzone will be awarding $500 for the single best male trick at each stop, as well they will be rewarding the top male and top female in the Renegade (13-15 year old) category with a 2010 outerwear sponsorship contract. Camp of Champions will be awarding two Deluxe 5 Day Camp Packages at each of the events in the AM Open category to the top male and top female. Also, the overall series male and female champions in the Coors Light Pro category will receive a trip to Baldface Lodge in Nelson B.C. with a dedicated fulltime photographer responsible for capturing editorial and photo highlights. Coors Light Pro points are only accumulated in the Pro category while TTR points will be awarded in the AM Open and PRO Open categories.
YLGRC09 is an OPEN event that welcomes and encourages snowboarders of all ages and talent levels. YLGRC09 prides itself on being the launching ground for Canadian Talent and assisting in the rider’s progression from Amateur to Professional.
