Winds gusting up to 140 km/hour combined with flat light caused the Swatch TTR 6 Star Roxy Chicken Jam to be called off. Event organizers cancelled the competition after assessing the difficult weather conditions. “The weather didn’t let us ride the contest, but next year I’ll be back for sure because I think it is a great event for girls,” said Claudia Fliri.
The best women snowboarders in the world will compete at the 6th Roxy Chicken Jam Europe from December 12 to 14, 2008 at the Glacier Park on Kitzsteinhorn at Kaprun, Austria.
Clark and Anderson take Chicken Jam titles … and the TTR battle comes to an end.
Kelly Clark, 2004 Olympic Gold Medalist, took first place and the 2008 Roxy Chicken Jam Superpipe Crown. Facing hard-hitting competition, Clark stayed above the lip launching massive airs to grab the top spot on the podium and the first place $10,000 check. Roxy team-riders Torah Bright and Kjersti Buass followed close behind in second and third respectively.
