Prospect Snowboards is releasing our 09/10 gear soon. This includes our “Tangent Tech” line of boards. This is our reverse camber technology that has been running the gauntlet in our development lab. Let us drop a line to tell you about how we see our Tangent Tech working on he hill, who will like it, and why the Tangent makes a great board.
Tangent Tech, just like the reverse camber movement has taken off in the industry. Shops like Salty Peaks have said that they only ordered reverse camber boards this year! So what’s the hitch? We made the Tangent right at home in the park. These boards have a softer flex pattern as a result of the 4mm of anti-camber. This is pretty relaxed to assure these boards get plenty of pop while providing a free feel.
What do we mean by “free feel”? With a single contact point on the between your feet and a convex base that lies deeper down the center; you will feel like you can spin on flat ground without catching an edge. Huh? Why is that good? This means that sticky rails and whipified edge diggers are a thing of the past. Now landings are easier to muscle when you’re not spot on. It means your edge won't dig into a rail and sent you head first down the hill. It means that pro and novice alike will get better results from their riding because of the “free feel”.
Let’s not forget to mention, these boards are a dream in powder. Because of the elevated nose, you stay on top of the powder instead of getting stuck like your buddy Larry who has that poser board from “Zumiez”. Anyway, we call it a surfboard feel because the board clings to the surface of the pow.
Who wants Tangent Tech? Aside from Prospect board being the illest face of the 09/10 lineup, these boards excel in the park and pow. They are easier to step into for beginners and pros like the softer buttery feel. Tangent boards also carry a friendly price tag as well. Caution, if you are into Giant Slalom or prefer to wear tight racing unitards, don't even consider us.
Prospect has taking great care and consideration in making the tangent a rad deck. The geometry provides the personality, but let’s not forget about fundamentals. These decks have a sweet 2 year warranty, super light bamboo sidewalls, our super secret epoxy-resin system, and our new seamless edge technology.
