I have 2 set-ups this year, my Burton Custom from last season which has been great, and I won a Harlot Fresh Biddy last month and it's been amazing. Not sure how easy it is to locate one as they seem to be only available here in Canada or if they;re doing any demos so if you can find one I reccomend you try it. I use that for the park and my Custom for other riding.

i rode a burton custom x for 3 and a half years. love that board. but its hella money. i demo'ed the x8 last year and its sick. reall poppy light and spinny. flexy but can still stomp in the park. and i just got an 09 x8 (retail $600) for 399 on ebay. food for thought

hey man i'm a huge fan of the burton boards.. check out the new 09 burton twin its the board i ride. i've had twins as my last two baords adnthis is the best one yet. its a super light board designed for schredding up the park and has re inforced sidewalls and a dual density core to the board.. this thing is super light for for popping and the durabiliy to hit jibs all day and still got a tonne of flex because this board was made for wat ya wanna do.. ya its a burton board and they can be a lil more expensive but you say you can spend up to 400 so check out this link.

I would go for the Burton love, and no burtons arnt overpriced. My bf has one and he loves it.

If you can get your hands on one I have heard good things about the Nitro sub pop. I think it has some sort of reinforced edge too which would be great for jibbing. Its just a promo though so you might have to contact a rep or something to get one.

Rome Artifact
Technine Jib
Both are known for being flexy boards, and right around your price range. You could also check some last years boards if you can find some since they go for super cheap prices.

I NEED A NEW BOARD. I'm looking to buy a new snowboard. I know nothing about the science behind the snowboard. I want a board that gives me what I need for the style riding I perform. I ride mostly park terrain and urban jibs, so I need a board that is light enough to spin, has the pop, strength and durability I need to jib, and the flex I need to butter. I had tried some research, but every board description seemed to say the exact same thing but with the exception that every company had different names for their technical specs and “special features.” So in the end I grew to be very confused and slightly aggravated. I want to make sure I get the right board because, I'm sure you know, they tend to be rather pricey. Which, by the way, I don't have a very deep check book.
I have been looking at a few big named boards, mainly because they are all I know. Some are rather pricey, some are more common. They are (in no particular order..) :
Burton:
Custom X X8 Stria Uninc Custom Se7enDominant
Forum:
Youngblood
Destroyer/Hundreds
Eddie Wall Pro
Recon
Substance
Are the higher priced boards worth the money? People say Burton is overpriced. If that is the case, who makes a board that is comparable to some of the Burton boards?
I am trying to stay around the range of $300-400, even if it means going through eBay.
So, all in all. Is there a board that you would suggest (even if it is not on my list) that suits my needs while not breaking my bank?
PS: I am 5' 7'' 195lbs 20 year old male. (if it matters). And I am currently bidding on a board on eBay, so hopefully you can steer me in the right direction before I screw up. Thanks again.
