The Your Turn Photo Contest gives a chance for aspiring photographers to share their photo creations in return for recognition of their efforts and to win photo related prizes. Last month we offered an opportunity for these photographers to upload their best images for the theme “Ultimate Jib.” We received several entries and narrowed it down to these 16. By the look of the images collected, photographers and riders worked diligently and pulled off some creative jibbing.
It’s time to announce the first winner to this year’s Your Turn Photo Contest series.
The image that supported the Ultimate Jib theme best, held strong elements of photography, and displayed proper riding style was the photo made by Brandon Lepasti of Dan “Danimals” Liedahl. Congratulations Brandon! Nice work!
Brandon wins a prize pack consisting of a Burton Zoom photo backpack and Celtek Touch Tech gloves. His photo will also be submitted into the overall winner contest this spring. The winner of the overall will be given a spot at High Cascade’s Photo Workshop this summer at Mt. Hood.
For the others that did not win or submit photos, don’t worry, there are four themes remaining for this photo contest series; “Into the Dark,” “The White Room, “ “Pipe Dreams, “ and “Aloha.
The next theme is “Into the Dark.” Photographers need to go out at night, shooting any type of snowboarding, but must make the best use of flash. For this theme we brought in Pocket Wizard as a new sponsor who will supply this themes’ winner with a set of one of their radio slave models. In addition the winner will receive a Burton Zoom Pack and a pair of Celtek’s Touch Tech gloves
Submitting your photos is easy. Upload your photos into the YOUR STUFF section of TWSnow.com, (at the bottom of the TW homepage). Just be sure to tag it with the category name “Into the Dark,” add your name for photo credit, and include info for caption.
