Here’s a view at the top picks from the Your Turn Photo Contest: Spring Break
With the arrival of spring shredding comes warmer temperatures and slushy snow, at least that’s what you’d expect. At a time of the season when resorts are almost closed, some resorts here in North America are still experiencing cooler temps and last of the season snow showers. For this contest themed “Spring Break,” we received photos with conditions all across the board. They showcase the last remaining snow, those warm park session days, and sudden spring dumps that allow you to get your last pow turns of the year or the chance to take advantage of hitting that local rail one more time.
Among the collections of entries, one photo stood out that showed both the elements of spring shredding and creative vision from the photographer. I’d like to congratulate photographer Dmitry Gostevkikh for winning this Spring Break contest with his photo of Gleb Mishugin pond skimming at dusk at Volen Ski Resort in Russia. Please email me with your address asap, firstname.lastname@example.org, to get your new Burton photo pack and Celtek photographer glove.
Thanks to everyone that entered. If you didn’t win or missed your chance to enter there is one more “Your Turn Photo Contest” to submit your photography for. Next up is the “Industrial Revolution” theme. The deadline will be Friday, May 6th, 2011. Shortly after that winner is announced on May 12th we’ll be announcing the overall winner for the series. The photographer chosen to be the overall winner will get the chance to attend High Cascade’s Photo Workshop at Mt. Hood this summer plus a Burton photo pack and a pair of Celtek’s photographer’s gloves.
Get your camera and go get the shot! Anything relating to urban environments and jibbing junk will qualify for the “Industrial Revolution” theme. Be creative and have fun out there!
