Tim Wrisley the General Manager of TransWorld Snowboarding, Surf, and Snowboard Life division was appointed Group Publisher of TransWorld Media April 26, 2000 by Andy Clurman, president of The Skiing Company.

Wrisley will assume responsibility for the management of TransWorld’s snowboarding, skateboarding, surfing, consumer and trade magazines’ editorial, advertising, production, consumer marketing, and finance operations.

Fran Richards the General Manager of TransWorld Skateboarding, Stance division was named Vice-President of Sales & Marketing for TransWorld Media. In his new capacity, Fran will assume responsibility for the day-to-day management of all of TransWorld’s endemic advertising sales, TransWorld’s Teen Group, marketing, and licensing operations. He will retain his title and role as Publisher of the newly launched Stance Magazine.

Erica May, the Executive Assistant to the President and LicensingManager has been appointed Business Development Manager. In her new role, May will assist Richards in the expansion of TransWorld Media’s business development and licensing efforts.

In their 12 years at TransWorld, both Wrisley and Richards have played key roles in the development of the company into the leading publisher of alternative sports magazines for the teen male market. Working as a team, they have established TransWorld Snowboarding and Skateboarding as the clear market leaders in their category. Through the acquisition by Times Mirror Magazines of TransWorld, the launch of Snowboard Life, TransWorld Surf, and TransWorld Stance Magazines, Richards and Wrisley have demonstrated their commitment to the people and products that have made TransWorld so successful.

Additionally, Erica has developed an expertise in licensing and has been instrumental in the completion of TransWorld’s Infogrames video game contract.
