June 17, 2002 Wintersteiger just finalized an agreement to purchase the assets of Spirakut shop tools from Holmenkol’s parent company LOBA Germany. Spirakut’s reputation as a quality supplier of backshop supplies for ski and snowboard shops was a perfect match to join forces with Wintersteiger’s already comprehensive program of machines, shop supplies, storage and rental shop solutions.

“This will quickly expand and complete our goal to be the ìone stopà® company to supply our customer’s with any backshop need, commented Fritz Hoeckner, Wintersteigeràs President.

Spirakut products will continue to be sold under the Spirakut name and will be presented using a separate Spirakut catalogue. Holmenkol wax systems was not part of the sale to Wintersteiger and is still based in Hailey, Idaho.

Ryan Eittreim, Vice President of Spirakut will be joining the Salt Lake City Wintersteiger team immediately to head the new Spirakut program.

Wintersteiger plans to have a seamless transfer of phone numbers, customer service, and product ready to go in Salt Lake City by mid July. This is an exciting addition to the overall Wintersteiger offering and should benefit ski and snowboard shop customer’s search for virtually any backshop solution.
