Los Angeles, CA – September 9th, 2004 – Utopia Optics International, Inc. announces the hiring of Todd Proffit as Utopia’s Director of Snow Team and Promotions.
In addition to having been a professional snowboarder, Todd’s snow experience for the last 15 years has included positions as Team Manager for Quicksilver and Ambiguous Clothing, as well Marketing Director for Dickies Girl and Dragonfly Clothing.
Todd will build Utopia’s snow program by adding an elite group of riders to join Utopia’s snow team which is presently headed up by Shaun Palmer. Todd will also attend all the key contests and events and work with the media to increase Utopia’s presence in the marketplace.
Robert Haag, Utopia’s President stated: “We are excited to have Todd heading up our snow efforts; he was definitely our first choice for the position. I am certain that with Todd spearheading Utopia’s move into snow, we will have a world class snow team.

Utopia Optics will announce the new snow team by the opening of the 2004 – 05 snow season. Utopia will have a team house in Mammoth Mountain in California for the upcoming season that can be used as a home base for its athletes, reps and the media.
Utopia Optics Adds Palmer
Los Angeles, CA September 9th, 2004 – Utopia Optics® International, Inc. announces the addition of Shaun Palmer to its snow team. Shaun was awarded the 2000 NEA Extreme Athlete of the Year. Whether it’s a skateboard, dirt bike, mountain bike, a snowboard with soft boots, or a pair of skis, Shaun makes riding them look easy. The epitome of a well rounded athlete, Shaun was once featured on the cover of USA Today under the title of the “World’s Greatest Athlete.
Shaun has accumulated many titles and sponsors dating back to 1985. Shaun, a six-time X-Game Gold Medalist and founder of Palmer Snowboards, is ecstatic to be with Utopia®.
