Two Join SIA Board of Directors

LAS VEGAS, NV — Murray Merkley, of Murray Merkley Vail Ltd., and Janet Freeman, of Betty Rides, join as the newest members of SIA’s Board of Directors. The new board of directors were named at the SnowSports Industries America Annual Meeting today at the Las Vegas Convention Center.

Ned Post, president of Smith Sport Optics continues to chair the board, with Rossignol’s Hugh Harley moving up to first vice-chair, Dick Leffler, president of Nils, Inc, as second vice- chair, Burton’s David Schmidt moving to third vice-chair, Diane Boyer-Irwin of SKEA coming onto the executive committee as secretary and Volkl’s John Stahler continues as treasurer in a new, two-year term.

Other board members include Mike Carey of Seirus Innovative Accessories, Stephen Crisafulli of Marmot Mountain Ltd., Bob Gundram of Northwave North America, Edward Kiniry of Tubbs Snowshoe Company, David Lampert of Swix Sport U.S.A, Darcy Lee of Cold As Ice, Emily Merrill of Turtle Fur Company, Larry Morton of Scott USA, David Provost of Skis Dynastar, John Schweizer of Garmont USA, Inc., Betty Tung of Fera International Corp., and Richard Zuckerwar of Grandoe Corporation. J.E. Corette III of Piper and Marbury LLP, continues as SIA legal counsel and David Ingemie remains president of SnowSports Industries America.

Bob Provost of Vans, Inc., and David Schubert of Alpine Design stepped down from the board.
