Olympic Snowboarder Tommy Czeschin Stars in “Rider’s Ed, Volume II”

Richmond, VA ¿ March 8, 2002. Ground Zero Productions today announced that Tommy Czeschin, professional snowboarder and recent contender in the Olympics, will be the starring instructor for “Rider’s Ed, Volume II”. The video is a snowboarding instructional geared toward intermediate riders who are interested in progressing into halfpipe and freestyle riding. It’s a sequel to this years’ best-selling snowboarding instructional produced by Ground Zero Productions, called “Rider’s Ed.”

Tommy earned his nickname “The Machine” by being a powerhouse winner in professional snowboarding and slaying the pipe in events around the world, including a 6th place finish in Park City at the 2002 Winter Olympics last month (many thought he should have taken home the bronze). Highlights of his career include: Silver Medalist at the ESPN Winter X-Games 2001, 1st place at the Japan World Cup 2001, Silver Medalist in the Superpipe at the Gravity Games 2000, Silver at the Goodwill Games Halfpipe 2000, and many more.

“We’re exceptionally proud to have Tommy as our star instructor for the project,” said Scott Dickens, co-founder and Creative Director for Ground Zero Productions. “It really speaks volumes about the need for this type of instructional for it to draw the talents of Tommy Czeschin, one of the world’s finest snowboarders.”

In addition to the VHS release in August, Ground Zero Productions will be releasing a DVD that includes “Rider’s Ed,” as well as “Rider’s Ed, Volume II” on the same DVD with additional bonus footage, interviews with , and a special “how to tune your snowboard” section.

“Ground Zero Productions is really making a name for itself for snowboarding video production,” says Johnny West, who directs the O’Neill Snow Division. “The success of Rider’s Ed is unheard of from a new production company in this industry and O’Neill is proud to sponsor the production of Rider’s Ed, Volume II.”

Key sponsors of the video are still signing on board, but initially O’Neill Outerwear, Snowshoe Mountain Resort (Intrawest), Glass & Powder Boardshop, and Duofold are on board. Video Action Sports will be distributing the release. For more information about “Rider’s Ed, Volume II,” please contact Scott Dickens at Ground Zero Productions: (804) 422-9123.
