Wrightwood, CA ¿ November 6, 2001 ¿ Professional rider and industry affiliate, Todd Proffit, has joined forces with Mountain High to increase industry awareness and magazine exposure for the growing resort. “I think Todd can deliver,” states John McColly, Mountain High’s Marketing Director. “Being both a pro rider and former team manager, he knows all the players and how to get our parks in front of the camera.”
For more than 10 years, Todd Proffit has traveled the world as a professional snowboarder. His pictures have charmed the pages of dozens of publications including Spin, Rolling Stones and ESPN Sports. His cultural experience even landed him positions at Quicksilver and Ambiguous Clothing where he coordinated marketing campaigns and managed sponsored athletes but never lost the drive to compete. As a well-known surfer and skater, he often participates in events that combine two or even three of the disciplines such as the H20 Winter Classic.
Now at Mountain High, Todd’s goal is to generate interest within the professional snowboarding community and reinforce the resort’s terrain park program through photo shoots and magazine editorials.
“Coming from Big Bear, I never knew how insane the parks were at Mountain High!” says Proffit. “I’m stoked to be part of the fastest growing resort in the country and I want others to see what I see.”
Mountain High is Southern California’s most popular winter destination with more visits last season than any other regional resort in history. This year they have dedicated over $2.5 million to capital improvements including 5 new terrain parks, new Jib and Snowskate areas, 4 new Bombardier Parkcats, a new Pipe Grinder and much more.
