New England—”The Main Event snowboarding competition will be hosting four rounds of competition in the New England region. Thanks to Flow and Burton, “The Main Event series is now in it’s second year of operation and has proved to be the most progressive mini slopestyle competition on the east coast and is open to all snowboarding competitors. The series will appear at Sunday River, December 11, Loon Mountain, January 28, Wachusett Mountain, February 18, and the Finals at Waterville Valley, March 4. The professional male and female competitors will receive a cash purse at each event. In addition, the overall professional competitors at the end of the series, male and female, will be given wildcards into the Burton US. Open. The overall professional points leaders will also be awarded a heavyweight championship belt made by a professional boxing trophy belt maker. The wildcards don’t stop there; the male professional winner from the first stop at Sunday River will also be awarded a spot to the “Honda Vail Sessions taking place in Vail Colorado on January 14, 2006. This series is not just limited to the professional snowboarder; “The Main Event also has a male and female amateur round, and awards the top three riders from each group with a generous amount of prizes- ranging from snowboards to outerwear. So come on out and see if you got what it takes to make it to the final round!
