Snowbird, Utah – Specialty ski and snowboard retailer SportStalker will return to the Snowbird Ski & Summer Resort Plaza Deck location it first occupied in 1977 following an agreement reached this week by the resort and Christy Sports, LLC.

Snowbird President Bob Bonar and Christy Sports COO Keith Liefer announced today SportStalker, which has occupied a less visible Level 2 location in the Snowbird Center since the resort opened its own retail store four years ago on the Plaza Deck, will return to the 8,000-square-foot space this summer.

“We’re excited to be back in a location that makes us a significant partner with Snowbird,” said Liefer, who began his ski industry career managing the Snowbird SportStalker store. “I have a real connection with Snowbird, it’s a really special place for me.”

Christy Sports, LLC operates 34 specialty ski and snowboard shops throughout Utah and Colorado under the names Christy Sports, SportStalker and PowderTools. SportStalker and Christy Sports merged in 1995. SportStalker occupied the prime Plaza Deck location near the Tram until 1999 when Snowbird opened Snowbird Ultimate Mountain Outfitters (SUMO). Snowbird will continue to operate its Cliff Sports retail shop within the Cliff Lodge as well as the Wings logo merchandise shop on the first floor of the Snowbird Center.
