KETCHUM, Idaho – Aug. 9, 2004 – Smith Optics is pleased to announce thatit has hired Mike Martin as the company’s western regional salesmanager. Martin joins eastern regional sales manager Brian Cotsonas andcentral regional sales manager Linda Rodney in its recently restructuredsales department. All three regional sales managers report to Smith’sSenior Vice President of Sales, Blair Clark. Martin will join Smith atthe Outdoor Retailer (OR) Summer Market tradeshow, August 12-15, 2004 inSalt Lake City, Utah.
Coming to Smith with more than seven years experience in sales in theaction-sport market, Martin most recently worked as the national salesmanager for Rip Curl International, overseeing 18 reps throughout theU.S. and Puerto Rico. He also held the position of national salesmanager for MCD, a division of Gotcha International, and prior was thegeneral manager and buyer for Newport Ski Company for more than 18 yearswhere he oversaw 80 employees and purchased hardgoods, sunglasses andaccessories. Based in Huntington Beach, Calif. and managing Smith’s SanClemente office, Martin is a native Southern Californian who enjoyssurfing, snowboarding and skiing.
