- Eric Carlson Promoted to Sunglass Product Manager ¿
KETCHUM, Idaho, January, 2002 – Smith Sport Optics has appointed Daryl Price to the position of Goggle Product Manager. Price replaces Eric Carlson, who has been promoted to Sunglass Product Manager.
Price joins Smith from Giro Sport Design, where he was the Marketing Manager for Giro Bike, Wintersport and Hydrapak product groups. His active involvement in product development within the Giro Sport Design group will make him an asset to the Smith Marketing team. Price also brings his extensive cycling background to the company, having competed as one of America’s top professionals from 1989-1997. He has relocated to the Ketchum, Idaho office from Santa Cruz, CA with his wife Dana.
Carlson’s promotion comes after six years with Smith, most recently as Goggle Product Manager and formerly as Promotion Manager. Product introductions during Carlson’s helm included the new Fuse Regulator snow goggle, Triad Spherical snow goggle, Anthem Spherical snow goggle, Warp MX goggle and the Warp Roll Off vision system.
“Daryl will be a great fit at Smith as well as in the community with his experience and active pursuits of snowboarding, cycling and motocross,” said Ned Post, President of Smith Sport Optics. He continued, “Additionally, Eric has proven himself as exceptionally innovative and creative in terms of product and certainly will be a huge asset in the Sunglass department.”
