Families, friends, Star Wars fans and snowboarders gathered today at Sierra-At-Tahoe Resort for the official kick-off of the Burton Star Wars Experience. In partnership with Burton Snowboards and Lucasfilm Ltd., the newest Burton Riglet Park is a one-of-a-kind snowboarding experience which uses iconic Star Wars themes and characters to introduce children ages 3-6 years old to the sport of snowboarding.

Representatives from Burton and Lucasfilm were both on site for the launch event to demonstrate the elements of the program and host a Star Wars-themed party focused around the film, Episode 1 – The Phantom Menace, recently released in theaters in 3D. Kids of all ages enjoyed the celebration that included beginner snowboard instruction in the park, Star Wars-themed crafts and a chance to get their pictures taken with Storm Troopers, Yoda and R2-D2.

About The Burton Star Wars Experience

Open from now until the end of the winter season, the Burton Star Wars Experience combines Burton’s industry-leading Learn To Ride hardgoods, teaching systems and Riglet Park features with Jedi Master Yoda’s methods of balance, movement, and control.  At the Burton Star Wars Experience, kids as young as three can learn to snowboard with the help of Burton’s Riglet Reel, a specially designed reel attached to the nose of youth snowboards, that help them with balance, movement and control. The Burton Star Wars Experience is tailored to give ‘younglings’ the proper tools and instruction to be successful at snowboarding at a young age.

The Burton Star Wars Experience at Sierra-At-Resort is a full-day experience that includes the Burton Riglet Reel technology equipment rental, lunch, and plenty of interaction with Yoda and his intergalactic friends for just $135/day. A ‘3-Pak’ brings the price down to $81/day and is valid any day, all season long with no blackout dates.

May The Force Be With You.
