PORTLAND, OREGON, October 9, 2002 — Salomon North America announces that Tom Berry, formerly of The North Face, will fill the position of Director of Sales, effective immediately.
Berry developed strategic skills early in his career as a Management Consultant and secured sound leadership skills during his 4-year assignment as an Infantry Officer where he attained the rank of Captain. At The North Face, he held several Sales positions over the past 5 years including, National Accounts Manager, Director of Sales (Western USA) and Project Leadership for Retail Floor Space Management.

With a strong background knowledge of both specialty retail and key Salomon accounts, specific experience in Softgoods and established relationships with existing accounts, Berry will take full responsibility for the Sales Organization effective immediately. He will report directly to James Curleigh and will work closely with each of the Salomon Business Units and the Brand Department, as well as the critical areas of Service, Credit and Finance.
Upon joining Salomon, Berry relocates to Portland from San Francisco, Calif., with his wife and two children.
