SnowSports Industries America (SIA) has moved its consumer Web site, SnowLink.com, to Resort Sports Network. The one-year agreement between SIA and RSN begins today, according to Mary Jo Tarallo, SIA’s director of marketing services and communications.
SnowLink.com provides consumers a wealth of product, resort, weather and travel information. SnowLink also contains a media center that offers press releases, statistics about the snow sports industry and trend information. In addition to hosting the site, RSN’s sales force will sell banner ads on SnowLink.com, according to Tarallo. Snowlink.com has not previously accepted advertising. RSN replaces the Cedro Group as SnowLink site host.
Now in its fourth year, SnowLink, www.snowlink.com, is the industry clearinghouse for information about winter sports. SnowLink has nearly 800 links to official snow sports company Web sites, plus information on equipment, clothing, lessons, conditions, resorts, ski and snowboard shops. There are sections that cover how to get involved in sports like alpine skiing, snowboarding, cross country skiing and snowshoeing. During the peak winter months, SnowLink receives upwards of 5,000 visits a week from winter sports enthusiasts. “We’re very happy to partner with RSN,” said Tarallo. “They have expertise in the snow sports industry as well as knowledge of the medium and the opportunities it affords. One of our objectives in making this move is to increase traffic to the site so that we can better showcase our members’ products and information about our industry.”
“We have a lot of respect for SIA as an organization and for the proactive role they play within our industry,” said Tom Gale, vice president of interactive media, Resort Sports Network. “Our core focus to date has been on the needs of the resorts, but this partnership will allow us to begin to extend our media, marketing and technology services to the manufacturers and retailers as well.”
SnowSports Industries America (SIA) is the national, nonprofit, member-owned trade association of competing on-snow product manufacturers, suppliers and distributors working together to promote and develop the winter sports industry.
