Huntington Beach, California, October 9, 2001 (NYSE: ZQK) Quiksilver is proud to announce the addition of Brian Craighill, to the company’s Snow division, as Snow Marketing Manager. An East Coast native, Craighill was lured away from the fast academic track to the slopes of Utah where he finished college and began planting deep roots in the snowboarding industry.
An amateur team rider for K2, he had exceptional promise for going pro, but opted for the business side. He helped create the K2 snowboard team and has managed those affairs until now. “Over the past year I’ve had the opportunity to meet, work with, and also travel with some amazing people in the industry. When I was offered the opportunity to pursue the team manager position at Quik, I ran it past a few people that have been in the game a lot longer than I have. Eyes lit up when I mentioned the Quiksilver name,” said Craighill. “I feel that Quiksilver is a place where I will be able to continue building upon the snow program’s momentum, and also personally grow. Plus, I also need to learn how to surf. That might be an easier task in Huntington Beach than Utah…we’ll see.”
Craighill will report to Taylor Whisenand, Quiksilver’s Brand Manager, who commented, “Brian will bring to Quiksilver the experience, relationships, and legitimacy that he has built during his years in the industry and play a key role in continuing the growth and evolution of our snow program.”
