Bill Bussiere, senior vice-president of Quiksilver, announced the hire of Chris Owen to Quiksilver wintersports team manager, effective June 1st. Owen, who will be reporting to Dave Rosenberger, Quiksilver wintersports national sales manager, will be based in Portland, Oregon. Owen’s primary focus will be developing and promoting the Quiksilver and Roxy snow teams through contests, photo shoots, appearances, demonstrations and interacting with core media. In addition, Owen will be tasked with enhancing the relationship between Mervin Manufacturing and Quiksilver’s snow marketing departments and team efforts.
Owen, a fifteen-year industry veteran, has been working at Mervin Manufacturing for the last eight months as the Mervin Manufacturing team manager and has focused on increasing visibility of Mervin’s brands, Gnu and Lib Technologies. “I’m excited to have someone of Chris’s reputation involved in Quiksilverís wintersports efforts. His professionalism and enthusiasm strengthened the Mervin team and now I look forward to having him as a member of our wintersports team at Quiksilver,” says Bussiere.
