HUNTINGTON BEACH, Calif.–March 22, 2002– Quiksilver (NYSE:ZQK) is pleased to announce the openings of two new concept shops in the Woodfield Shopping Center in Schaumburg, Illinois.

On March 29th, a Quiksilver Boardriders Club and a Quiksilver Youth store will open for the first time in this market.

“Illinois is an untapped non-core market for Quiksilver’s Retail Division. We are steadily increasing our retail presence in these markets to build brand awareness and to give the consumer an innovative product mix that may not be currently offered in their region,” said Gregg Solomon, senior vice president of Quiksilver’s Retail Division.

The 2,280 square foot Quiksilver Boardriders Club is the 16th company owned store in the U.S. market. The merchandise that is primarily carried in the shop includes Quiksilver’s namesake line of young men’s product as well as its popular women’s junior line, Roxy. Shoes, clothing, swimwear, accessories and luggage aimed at the active consumer are offered for purchase in the brightly merchandised store.

The Quiksilver Youth store boasts 1,180 feet of square footage and is the first company-owned youth store. The product mix is similar to the categories offered at the Quiksilver Boardriders Club but aimed at the younger customer. The boy’s collection of clothing includes Quiksilver Youth, Quiksilver Boys 4-7, Quiksilver Toddlers and Tony Hawk Boys. Additionally, Roxy’s “little sister” line, Teenie Wahine, caters to younger girls. The store will also feature interactive games to further enhance the customers’ shopping experience.
