Whistler, BC , March 12, 2003 The Ripzone Snowboard Invitational, taking place April 11-13 during the TELUS World Ski & Snowboard Festival, has announced there are still some spots available for men and women in the Superpipe Qualifier. This is a great opportunity for Canadian and US up & coming riders to compete for a spot in the Finals, where they¹ll compete against some of the top riders in the world including Keir Dillon, Guillaume Morriset, David Melancon, Tricia Byrnes and Maelle Ricker.
This year¹s Ripzone Snowboard Invitational includes Superpipe, Big Air and Jibzone competitions, with the total prize purse of $65,000 in cash & prizes spread across these three competitions.
The Superpipe Qualifier competition takes place Saturday morning, April 12 from 9.30am to 1.30pm in the Blackcomb Superpipe. The Superpipe Finals take place on Sunday, April 13, between 11am and 2pm.
Interested snowboarders should visit the web site at www.livelarge.ca . Follow the Ripzone Snowboard Invitational link to the Athlete Criteria section, and fill out the Entry Request form. There is a $60 entry fee for all qualifiers.
The Superpipe Qualifier is open to the first 60 men and 30 women to enter. The top 10 scoring men and top 8 scoring women in the Superpipe Qualifier will advance to the Superpipe Finals.
There is no deadline for entering the Superpipe Qualifier…spaces will be filled on a first come, first serve basis – so register NOW to ensure that you get in!
